The Singer IZEK

“Wait, is he really writing about a sewing machine?”

Heck, right I am! And it is video game related, Ripleys’ Believe it or Not!

It’s the Singer IZEK:

It has the same kind of design as the Apple IMac had when it was released (you know, those schmexy little beasts who had everything in the screen), as was popular back then:

See the similarities? And are you also seeing how schmexy it looks?

This sewing machine had a lot of patterns and was able to write text. It’s said to be a great sweing machine, really. You got the IZEK, a Gameboy Color, a Game Pak with the programming and patterns and a link cable. Also:

From Mobygames.com: Should something jam on the sewing machine, or some other sort of error occur, a diagram of the machine will appear on the screen with the trouble area flashing. Similarly should the machine require any attention the information will be supplied through the screen.

That’s awesome!

Here’s a more in-depth article about the machine: http://www.retrothing.com/2006/04/izek_sewing_mac.html

I’m amazed what you can use the Gameboy Color for!

But seriously though…”Singer- The Original Powertool for Women since 1891.” Man, that’s sexist. There are a good bunch of men who sew too!

  1. Ah, yes, the iMac era! Semi-transparent cases in all their glory, with light and warm colors!
I remember the N64 cases too.
It would be nice to see a demonstration of this sewing machine.
It would be cool to operate it. 🙂
